Sony Unveil New VAIO E Series Entry Level Laptop
The colourful new VAIO E Series by Sony
Sony unveiled the latest laptop in the VAIO family yesterday; the new E series. The E Series has been lined up as a replacement to the old NW Series and offers consumers an affordable VAIO laptop by Sony.
In terms of specs considering this is at the lower end of the Sony VAIO range the E series packs an impressive punch. An Intel Core i3 processor has been included as has an ATI Mobility Radeon 5000 series graphics module. Equipped with 500GB of hard disk and a HDMI output port as well as the numerous USB ports we come to expect from laptops today, effective connectivity is assured. There will be even be the option of a Blu Ray ROM drive to make the most of the 15.5 inch 1080p HD screen and an in-built webcam is also included.
One of the more impressive aspects of the new VAIO E Series is the funky range of colours it will be available in. As always there is the rather traditional colours such as brown, gun metal and white but in addition contemporary colours with outlandish names such as “Caribbean Green”, “Hibiscus Pink”, “Lava Black” and “Iridescent Blue” have been included to bring a sense of style and theatre to the E Series range. Consumers also have the option to add special skins to the keyboard to achieve an individual look.
Mike Abery, the Senior Vice President of the Sony VAIO business group stated that “The E Series delivers contemporary cool designs at mainstream prices” showing that Sony are acutely aware that bringing stylistic appeal to its products at a cost effective price is now essential. Mr Abery reinforced this commitment to bringing fashionable laptops to the masses by commenting that “consumers will no longer have to sacrifice style for affordability”.
Style has certainly been a factor in the design of the VAIO E Series with some crazy colour combinations available. That said, if consumers want to stand out from the crowd with a laptop that screams individuality as well as technical prowess, then the E Series could become one of the more sought after models of VAIO.
